PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Greetings MAA Members,

As 2023 is nearing its end, we have a great year to look back upon. Our Annual Conference was a huge success, thanks to the Meridian Airport and their partners. The Legislature created the Strategic Multi-Modal Investments Fund with $30 million available among ports, rails and airports. In addition, just a few weeks ago, MDOT notified us of their intention to provide BIL-AIG matching grants of half the non-federal share. This is great news, and we commend Brad White and the Transportation Commissioners for their continued support of airports with this decision.

Looking forward, we have our MAA Capitol Day on February 1, 2024, and I want to have as many members as possible there to remind our legislators of the importance of airports to the state’s economy and ensure their continued support entering the new legislative session. I would also like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday season as we look forward to great things in 2024.
