PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Holiday Greetings,
Well, it is hard to believe that 2022 is almost gone. What a great year it was! The Association created a new logo and gave a new look to our website. On the website, we added a “Projects Page” focusing on multimodal projects and an “Advantages of Membership” page. We celebrated Mississippi Aviation Month in May and highlighted the economic impact of airports to our state. We held our annual conference in Starkville, and it was the highest attendance in years, even before COVID. We said goodbye to some in our field as they retired – board members Mike Hainsey, Bill Cotter and Carol Snapp, to name a few. Some will still be with us, just in another field of work. Finally, we laid the groundwork with the Legislature for future funding via the Multimodal Fund. Looking ahead, we are working on MAA Capitol Aviation Day, February 2, 2023, and our annual Conference will be in the beautiful city of Meridian September 13-15, 2023.
We have a lot to celebrate and be thankful for as an organization this past year. As we move into the new year, I would pray that we continue to advance our Association to benefit all of aviation in our state.
Luann and I wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous and Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
Tom Heanue
President
