Airfield Lighting Upgrade at Olive Branch

By David Taylor, Jr., Airport Director
Olive Branch Airport/Olive Branch Aviation

Olive Branch Airport is replacing airfield lighting with modern LED fixtures.

The Olive Branch Airport is currently in the process of replacing all airfield lighting with new LED light fixtures. Runway, taxiways, distance markers and taxiway signs are all being replaced with modern LED fixtures. The old lighting had been in place for over 20 years and was due for replacement.

Included in the lighting project, REILs will be added to Runway 36, and the air traffic control tower will receive a new, and much brighter, LED airway beacon.

The runway lights project will have wrapped up by the end of June, with the taxiway lighting to begin shortly thereafter.

Proposed completion of the entire project is mid-August 2024.
