Taylor, Jr. Becomes Olive Branch Airport Director
The Olive Branch Airport is under new – yet familiar – leadership. David Taylor, Jr. became Airport Director in December. He had worked on the line at the airport for 25 years then was away for a time until retiring recently from the city’s fire department.
Many will recall his father, the late David Taylor, Sr., who ran the airport for 30 years before retiring in 2014 and was the FAA’s 2001 regional General Aviation Manager of the Year. The airfield was named in his honor last year.
“I’ve been around the Olive Branch Airport in some capacity since I was thirteen years old, so most of my life was spent here,” shares Taylor, Jr. “This airport is very important to me for a variety of reasons, but carrying on what my father started and beyond is my goal. I hope to be able to see his vision of expansion through moving forward.”
Taylor, Jr. is also a private pilot; his father was his instructor, as well as his brother’s.
