Here are updates sent from Mississippi airports on some of the improvement projects underway around the state.

LOUISVILLE-WINSTON COUNTY AIRPORT

Louisville-Winston County Airport was one of nine airports in the state receiving an inaugural MDOT Strategic Multi-Modal grant. The grant for $928,960 is to extend the ramp area northward to accommodate increased corporate jet traffic (KLMS had 755 jet operations in 2023). The project will also provide improved transient parking for general aviation aircraft and for future expansion northward, allowing for additional hangar space.

JAMES H. EASOM FIELD AIRPORT

Unity Construction, LLC recently completed a new Six Bay T Hangar for the City of Newton at James H. Easom Field. The project design was provided by Neel-Schaffer. An excellent team effort allowed for the project to be completed under budget with an early delivery.
